Flying to Paris

Our Paris trip was in early July, 2013. We were going to visit Paris first and the next stop was London.

The flight to Paris was about 14 hours with one stop. It was not too bad because we had a really good flight with Edelweiss Air owned by Swiss Airline. The Airbus A330 of Edelweiss Air is roomier than 747. It is designed to seat less people, meaning not cramped and more comfortable. The aircraft was clean and somewhat new. The temperature was perfect. Food was actually fresh and tasty, it didn't taste like the stereotypical stale airplane meal at all. We had a great rest and ate well on the plane until we arrived at the Zurich airport to transfer. I can't say the same about the returning flight with Air Canada. The aircraft of Air Canada was freezing inside and food was stale just like the usual in-flight meal you have always known.

Zurich Airport is a big hub connecting flight transfer in Europe. Although it doesn't have posh design but it's clean and spacious with plenty of seats for you to lounge, I think those are priorities and what travelers really need. It didn't seem that we could log on the one hour free WiFi as a local phone number was needed to do so, but it's not a big deal.

Here is some decorating piece at the Zurich airport. It looks pretty neat. I don't know what it is. A giant Tiffany pendant? A spaceship?

The Zurich Airport is quite big and it takes time to walk to your gate. So don't get carried away with browsing the shops or eating, give yourself at least 25 minutes to find your gate.
